Visited home today & on a whim decided to look through an old box in my closet & I struck GOLD. So many old Star Wars books I thought were long gone, some of which I’ve thrifted again since, some I don’t even remember owning. I audibly screamed “holy shit” & came close to tears

Phenomenal. Spielberg/Williams are forever the GOAT pairing. Just magic. Arguably the best performance of the year(& career)from Emily Blunt. Just like Close Encounters, the last 30 mins of the movie are just spectacular. A culmination of themes Spielberg has spent 50 years telling across this genre

The atmosphere, set design & score are all amazing, really immerse you into the horror world. Very strong 1st half, but the 2nd half went in a direction I didn’t like & I started checking out. Horror tropes were introduced I just don’t think this movie needed to be scary

Billion Dollar Idea: Remake WINGS as a STAR WARS show on Disney+, but it's all Anzellans. Shirley Henderson does all the voices, except for the Anzellan versions of Antonio Scarpacci and Lowell Mather, who are still voiced by Tony Shalhoub and Thomas Hayden Church.

Me talking space movies: I was moved by that scene. Them: Ha. Why? I wasn't Me: Ok, but the themes spoke to me. Them: There weren't any themes in the movie? Nothing happened. Me: Here's 9 times the characters said things that explicitly supported the theme. Them: Ha. You're making that up.

Anyway, remember when The Force Awakens was the most highly anticipated movie of the 2010's?

As Jabba the Hutt's son I'm often gatekept from progressive spaces due to preconceived notions about my family. At the same time, I acknowledge the reasonable concerns my presence would raise, and I'm working every day to unlearn the harmful attitudes instilled in me on my father's pleasure barge.

I think this is a movie that works a lot better on rewatch cause knowing what was coming I had a great time still, but the issues I had on 1st viewing I thought worked a lot better this time around for me. And that score is goddamn legendary

Like I expected, a fun, self-contained standalone adventure. I went on with 1 hope: that I would have a good time watching it & escape for 2 hours & it did just that. Not gonna break the mold for this franchise but I thought it was a nice welcome back to the big screen

Feels great to see a new Star Wars movie on the big screen again! Have had Ludwig’s score on repeat since I left the theater

Mandalorian and Grogu was fun, exactly what I expected it to be. I think this is what Star Wars needs more of, small stakes adventures. The entire fate of the galaxy doesn't need to always hang in the balance.

I’ve only just recently seen the first movie but I was pleasantly surprised just how much this worked for me. The entire cast is excellent going back into their respective roles & a worthy sequel on par with the first film
