It has been a bit since I updated here Due to timing things I didn't get my initial teaching license until after the school year started here. I have my license but am working as a substitute still for now The school year is off to a pretty good start.

The last 4 days have been busy. Going out to shows 3 nights and a club night. My body is letting me know that I am seriously nowhere near 25 anymore. 🤣 I'm glad the school year hasn't quite started yet for me.

I think I've got my music library in a mostly functional state again. Time to go back to fighting with OBS. That's a future me problem though.

I made it out dancing last night. It's the second time since I got done with school. It's so nice to get out and do something I love and put cares aside for a while.

I'm starting on the last assignment for the last class of my Master's program. 600ish words to the finish line! The last 2 years have been quite a journey. I'm feeling good about what I've accomplished and am looking forward to the future! Thank you, everyone who was there for me through all this!

I'm finally nearing the finish line. Feeling great about the work I have done in this program. My graduation ceremony is this Friday! I have one class that is only offered in the first half of the summer block that I have to complete to make it truly official. I am not worried about that though.

I'm in a weird liminal state. This school year and my master's program are winding down, but I don't know what happens next. It's weird not knowing where I'm going to land and saying goodbye not knowing if I'll be around these teachers and students at all next year.

It's the second to last day of my student teaching. We're on block schedule so I've already started saying my goodbyes. I'm still going to be around as a sub in the district for the rest of the semester, but I have no idea what next year is going to be. It's going to be a couple of emotional days.

I got it done. The revisions looked worse than they should have. The person doing the review on my docs thought I needed to have unique evidence for every point which wasn't the case. I cleared things up with the instructor and was able to skip the ones where that was the only feedback.

Revision day. I got notes back on my portfolio last night. I have some revisions to do. Most of them are fairly straightforward. I got some of this done last night and I'm going to try to get the rest of it done today. It's not due until tomorrow night but I want to get it over with.

I took a big swing with the last lesson I built for my student teaching. I adapted a simulation exercise I found to make it work with my US History classes. I started this morning pretty nervous. Overall it went well and I made several improvements. Tomorrow should go even better.

Spring break! Woo!!! Okay, I have some grading and a lot of writing to do but I'm mostly on my own schedule for the next week.

Yesterday I had an interview for a full-time role for next school year at the HS where I've been. I think it went pretty well, but I'll keep applying for stuff. I know I'm not the only applicant. The hiring cycle in Ed is so weird. I'm applying for jobs that won't even start until August.

This run up to Spring Break is rough. I knew it was going to be from past years but this one is a lot more since I'm doing my student teaching and keeping up with my own classes. I'm enjoying it and feel good about what I'm doing but I'm definitely ready for a bit of a break. 🍎

Yesterday and today I taught about the WWII Homefront. So, it has been all about rationing, propaganda, Japanese Internment camps and a little bit about how Captain America and other super heroes fought fascism in their stories. 🍎
