I honestly believe that most people who self-identify as "liberals" because they vote for Democrats have personal beliefs that are far closer to democratic socialism, or at least social democracy, than they are to the centrist values and policies of the modern Democratic Party.

This is the centrist POV in a nutshell: the idea that we have to engage with the structures of a corrupt capitalist regime in order to "fix" them. We, in fact, do not have to do that. We should instead focus on political actions that will enable us to tear those structures down.

The IOC's corruption is well known so this isn't terribly surprising, but it does help exhibit the full scale of the bigotry that controls so much of the international community. And just how much of that system needs to be torn down to put an end to this bigotry forever.
