Golden Girls is one of my comfort shows, I started watching the show as a little kid with my gramma & Dorothy was my favorite. Bea was talented as hell & I adored her sarcastic wit, especially in her role as Dorothy Zbornak. There was just something special about Bea🙌

Bea Arthur was incredibly generous and supportive of the LGBTQ+ community. Even after her passing she left a hefty donation to the Ali Forney Center. More of the older generations should take a page out of her book. She was a true American icon.

The more I rewatch the golden girls, the more I realise what a work of comedic genius it is.

Bea Arthur and director Gene Saks were married for 28 years from 1950-1978 Did You Know? Saks directed Arthur in her Tony Award-winning role as Vera Charles in Mame, and also directed her again in the film version. They collaborated on various projects over their 28-year marriage :)
