There has to be special karma for someone who hits an animal - in this case a deer - and doesn’t check on it. We live in a rural area with speeders. Poor thing was badly hurt but alive. Thankfully our GFP ranger came. Animals feel pain too! She didn’t make it though. 😔

Spending a quiet day at home with Mr. Hubby celebrating our 39th anniversary. Hard to believe how fast time goes. He’s still my best friend.

For those who may not know honor flights are one day trips where the organization flies the veteran and a guardian to DC for the day to visit the memorials. Hubby is one of 75 Vietnam veterans chosen for this flight.

Hubby and #1 son are in DC for the Midwest honor flight! Seem to be having a good time!😊

My Raider who crossed the rainbow bridge last night.

My wonderful cat Raider crossed the rainbow bridge last night. He was buddy and slept on my lap almost every night. I took him outside last night and we just sat on the deck and watched the sunset. I will miss him.

It's official! Mr. Hubby has been chosen for an Honor Flight in October!

The other night I was in a dark place. I sat on the deck and my Lucky came over and sat next to me. He leaned against me. I will never doubt that animals can save us. He did.

If only they could speak human

I wrote my first poem in a few years. I see him My heart skips a beat. I want to say something But can't My whole life I've wanted to meet him But all I do is worship him from afar. So instead I hope, I dream, I think Perhaps the dream can become reality.

I think it's really neat to be able to interact with published writers and artists. Thank you for all your advice! Also just to read so many interesting posts on so many subjects. I'm enjoying my time on bluesky!

When I was in my 20's I wrote a fiction book. I had an agency read it and show me areas to fix. They liked how far I'd come in my writing and suggested I set it aside and start a new one. Life happened though. But last night I spent an hour just writing. Will it go anywhere who knows.

I've been working on losing weight for a year and a half. Gave up soda and watched portion sizes. Didn't think I was getting anywhere until the last 2 weeks. Down from a 4X top to 1X (and XL) and from only stretch pants/shorts to size 22 jean shorts. Still going!
