This must be what it’s like to be a climate change researcher: in this kind of funding system many labs will shut down (or never get off the ground). Even if the money comes back there will be nowhere for it to *go*. It’s scary enough now - and the worst effects won’t be felt for years 😬

Amen, and also true of sex research. Both fields act as if the goal is to overcome the glittering allure of pleasure to prevent (real, important) risks, without deeply understanding & honoring those pleasures.

I feel ethically + professionally obligated as a clinical psychologist (and hope my peer feel the same) to state that sexual or gender diversity is empirically and definitively 1) not mental illness 2) is not treated as mental illness in any ethical and reputable treatment and 1/2

Wonderful news for reproductive health. Even if infusions were only as good as oral tabs, this would be good: oral iron causes nausea (already a prob in pregnancy) and one-time infusions are much easier to roll out & track than daily pill use. So infusions having *better* outcomes? 🤩
