These content warning boxes that have popped up twice now in the Krypto mini are a very neat addition. It's a very soft and melancholy little series involving animals, so the CW box gives a heads up when you might not otherwise expect a slightly darker turn. #comics

The cover got me, mostly, on this one and Flow is starting strong. I'm a sucker for a girl-revenge/coming-of-age/loss of innocence sort of horror stories, and this one's laying solid groundwork. #comics

Closing in on what's listed as the penultimate issue of Captain Planet, #5 comes in with big, showy moments (the kids call it aura farming, I believe). I continue to be especially fond of Ma-ti's intensity in this interpretation. Really showing the scope of the "heart" powerset when applied. #comics

Here's the thing, mid-20th century Christian music SLAPS. It's couched in country, folk, blues, and straight gospel which are genres with a layer of spiritual and emotional authenticity inherent to them. Then 9/11 ruined country and Christian music as an industry appeared and it all went to shit.

It is easy to feel this way but I truly think, for trans writers at least, writing books now is urgent. Write good books about your friends, get them printed, get them widely distributed, get them in the world. There has never before been an opportunity like the one we currently possess to do this.

This got reposted to Reddit (wanted to give Amy credit), and several of the comments are "I'm not brainrotted/online enough to understand this" in a demeaning fashion. However, linguistically, there's only one internet neologism in the entire post: "reply guy."

Not to clown on the sci-fi reading community (of which I'm a part), but segments of it still struggle to both diversify and update their retinue of favorites. I try to go out of my way to rectify these kinds of recommendation threads to the best of my ability. Because yeah...it's annoying.
