Bad news for some in the mojo world. Many mics need this cable to work with iPhones. Apple’s adapter is reliable when 3rd party ones aren’t. For the frankly bewildering number of new followers, here’s the kind of thing I bang on about as part of my job. Notice the rapidly flashing lights here? Look top left - they flash at 30 & 60 frames per second but not 25fps. Using the right fps leads to better video. (Shutter speed comes into it…)

Tip for radio producers: if you're not making full use of iPhone wide spectrum audio - why not!? It's the best way to hear background atmosphere if a guest is on location, without the need for fancy kit. (example below)

Congratulations to the University of Leeds students Olivia Davies and Emma Jackson, who were part of the broadcast. It's great to see theirs and other students' hard work, being rewarded in this way.

Journalists - make clippings of everything you do every week. I'm trying to find some of my old radio broadcasts and it's incredible how short-lived stuff is on the internet. Data protection policy means emails are auto-deleted; links are broken or the audio is no longer online to save storage.
