Like I was reading the 1 star GTN reviews for fun and to complain about them and I see a lot of "Harrow is abusive and unrepentant and problematic" and like. Guys its so much more complicated than that but also no one is in a cult and innocent of abusing other members. It's how cults operate.

Granted people drawn to religious trauma stories are also incredibly likely to have morality OCD so like. Of course they're gonna be intense about morally nuanced characters (been there!) But also a lot of the time I feel like its also people without those symptoms who just. Don't understand.
