One (of so so many) things that made me angry today was Retsef Levi suggesting people "ask their friends" as a way to gauge HepB prevalence in the community*, when a reason it's currently low is *all the effort we've put into vaccination over several decades*. I miss actual experts on ACIP.

Kudos to Dr Langer—a real subject matter expert from the CDC hepatitis branch. His comments are a beacon of clarity in a confused and muddled discussion.

Next liaison, Jason Goldman of American College of Physicians who speaks "you are wasting taxpayer dollars by not having scientific rigorous discussion on issues that truly matter. The best thing you can do is adjourn the meeting."

Dr Goldman points out the committee bias, unqualified presenters, lack of transparency, cherry-picking data, sidelining actual SMEs, & failure to follow established ACIP procedures. They could have addressed this issue with an unbiased review of evidence (GRADE). That's not what is happening here.

In a functional vaccine regulatory system there would be full data transparency & structured review of vax benefits & harms. That's not what we have now in the US. 👉FDA & ACIP have abandoned science for ideology. It will take many years to rebuild the regulatory infrastructure & regain public trust

CDCs demand to break up MMR vax into separate monovalent shots is public health malpractice. These vax are widely used worldwide. This large Swedish study found no association between acetaminophen & autism using matched sibling controls. Also no dose-response effect. Ppl who use acetaminophen while pregnant differ in many ways from those who do not, & using sibling controls was a great way to reduce unmeasured confounding
