I should be clear. If we cave. If we don’t stick this out until we get a fair deal. It won’t be long until performers have no say. If there’s no performers, then scheduling sessions isn’t needed. Which means staff at studios is barely needed. Which means no budget for hours. Which means layoffs etc

Remember my comment about A Bug’s Life earlier? This is it. I’m a SAG actor but I’ve also worked as an engineer on several games. This strike affects SO MANY people that aren’t just performers. The whole production infrastructure will change and a lot of people’s livelihood will disappear. Poof

There are members of the VA community that are so “above” most of us that they should be seen as management. They report to the employers and the employers are going to use that to their advantage in order cause in fighting to tear us apart from the inside. Don’t believe everything you hear.

Hey. I'm gonna be real. To all the rich VAs saying "this strike needs to end" because your bottom line is starting to hurt: Suck it up. Those of us at the bottom who have a hell of a lot more to lose are running Uber Eats etc to make it through this. The strike will end when we get our deal.

I’ve said this too many time in my life. Usually I’m a little more spicy than this but you can’t control anything that other people do but you can control your own actions. If want to see change, then you have take action. When a VA runs for leadership, show up and vote!

Sometimes ONE STEP of a legal battle could be as small as getting the court date or filing paperwork or even having a short conversation with a lawyer or asking your lawyer a “simple” question. That time is then invoiced. An hour of lawyer time is not cheap BTW, which makes sense. It adds up.

As someone who was in a 5 yr long legal battle (that someone else funded because they couldn’t stand by while it happened), please know… LEGAL ACTION IS NOT QUICK AND CHEAP. Enforceable AI protections are important. It’s important to be in an interim so you have the support of the union.
