Well enjoyed the show, I save a bit for this to stock up, today I didnt stock up but made one purchase...this. I got a little bag of stuff, glue etc, thats for the wife to see. The operation is to get this very large box in as part of my already have stash. It's still in the boot #histscalemodels

Wheels on and some dirt applied, it'll get dumbed down a little as I go on. Each wheel had to be drilled out to fit, a bit tight. I wasn't going to try and press on to a spiggot that may snap. Tracks next. Used some Jadlam points to get another 1/16 scale kit a lot cheaper #histscalemodels

A week of base colour painting. The MkIV and my Brummbär, which has been gathering dust on the shelf, have both been painted. Awkward shapes so they both had to be painted in stages. #histscalemodels #buildthestash

The main body is altogether now, what a job that was, its in 4 sections, the two lower parts of the hull 1st, then hope they are right for the rear & front section. The top, hmm, I had to shave 5mm from the bulkhead to make it fit. Anyway got there with it. #histscalemodels #scalemodels

Started to put some components together, the dry fit didn't go like this, it worked then. Now its the glue stage it wants a WTF moment. The parts are a tight fit anyway. The bulkhead didnt want to line up so some gentle persuasion is needed until it dries. #histscalemodels #scalemodels

A bit more progress. Primer on most parts, all the interior parts require top coats before final assembly, decals etc need to be fixed and so on, it will be inaccessible if put together before painting. Plenty of detail in 1:16 scale, hinges for example. #histscalemodels #scalemodels

Ive just been on an auction site looking at what's going, seen some decent stuff....however....the price ranges are a tad high given you have to add fees after along with postage starting at £39. It isn't really worth it, be out of pocket.

It's all about size. Both figures are 1:16 scale, Tamiya and MiniArt. As you can see the Centurion towers over the German soldier. So which one is right? Surely the designers have a standard proof for this sort of thing.

After its seven-year journey through the Delta Quadrant a wiery USS Voyager returns home....165 decals later, mind numbing I put it on the shelf several times and sulked. It's done,finished,ended. a few strategic lights added for effect. Now for something with A decal on it. #startrek #scalemodels

Guess that Sherwood castle & Robin Hood & the Sheriff of Nottingham figurines set really must be one of Airfix bestsellers. In our childhoods it seems we all had them, even me 😅 In my case the figurines set got lost but despite the memories I am not going to buy them again.

I haven't disappeared with the modelling, my lastest model is the U.S.S Voyager from the Star Trek universe.....as you may know I hate decals....especially lots of them. This kit has 165...many many many very small.... it is progressing, slowly, I can see the end #scalemodels

Had a nice walk around Bamford Edge and ladybower today, a bit of rain but nothing to spoil the party.

Do any of you still keep a road atlas in the car? It must be habit with me, "just in case" its a 2011 one but still valid for major roads I guess. I still have maps for hiking, my lads rely on their mobiles. I cant put all my faith into that.
