I mention this in the upcoming video on To Live And Die in L.A., but William Friedkin's episode of the 1980's Twilight Zone series is a spectacular piece of work. He made this in late 1985 when that film was a few weeks off from its theatrical release.

Well, so far they know what audience they seek to be courting with this He-Man movie. We’ll see how the full trailer pans out.

I still don’t know what I was thinking when I thought the VFX in Star Trek: Insurrection were good back in 1998. Oof! Whenever the Trek films couldn’t secure ILM you could DEFINITELY tell.

I think I made a mistake and bought the WRONG Criterion Laserdisc today. Dammit! The CLV version doesn't seem to have the bonus material of the earlier CAV version. Why would you do that to me, Criterion?! I spent $20 for nothing.

I’m still VERY FOGGY on the ending of To Live And Die in LA. Why did Masters go through with the million dollar counterfeit deal when he KNOWS Chance & Vukovich are undercovers looking to bust him? He also apparently knows Vukovich has been working with Masters’ attorney behind his back.

Today, I found the Criterion Collection Laserdisc of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I recently began work on a forthcoming video documenting the Numerous Versions of the Spielberg Classic.

Oooh, this is TOO SWEET! Most versions just rip the audio from the film with the dialogue and such muddying it up. This is as clear of a Freddie-only version as there is. I'm such a Highlander fan that I know most of the songs had alternate mixes for the film ahead of the A King of Magic album.

Fuck me, I'm tired. I have BIG plans tomorrow to get new videos moving forward. So, I'm gonna finish some creative writing in my robe and sweatpants. Then, I'll be done for the night.

You won't hear this often, but I feel better not having shot a video yesterday. No pressure on me to edit when I just feel like relaxing. I'm also rather excited about this Close Encounters of the Third Kind video that I'm starting research on now. That will happen in a few weeks, though.

Man, they aren't even making it difficult to NOT want to see this movie because of the studio's bullshit. There's nothing to get excited over here.

I've had this video idea on the shelf for a good year and a half, and since I'm holding off on the current video for the week, I'm gonna sit down and start research on The Numerous Versions of Close Encounters of the Third Kind tonight. I'm glad the 4K edition remastered all three versions.

In watching the behind the scenes on To Live And Die in L.A., Billy Friedkin definitely seemed to be less of a maniac here than on The Exorcist. He appears far more in tune with his cast and crew to be on the same page about everything and not taking dangerous risks. I appreciate that.

I need a brain flush today. Started with some Queen & Michael Kamen Highlander music, but now, I’m starting the new unabridged audiobook of Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire! I’ll get to what I need to work on today. I just need to realign my head.
