ANGEL was released on this day in 1984. You'd think a film about a schoolgirl hooker evading a serial killer would be DISGUSTINGLY sleazy, but I found the whole thing incredibly wholesome. I have yet to watch the sequels so I don't know if they descend into depravity, but the scores are excellent

Watching GROSSE POINTE BLANK again.

I waited to see what Second Sight did before I took the plunge on RE-ANIMATOR on 4K. Unfortunately they dropped all the extras I was interested in (about the musical and the Organic Theatre in the 70s) so I went for the Ignite Films release.

The only thing I want for 2026 is Charles Fox's score for SHORT CIRCUIT 2 on CD. Drop the nukes now if that's what it takes.

I'm guessing rewatching the whole CANDYMAN and FINAL DESTINATION franchises put Tony Todd over the top.

Last few days I've gone back to binging on CHEERS so it looks like this is my 2025 cinematic round-up. 317 films, 239 first-time viewings, ranging from the incredible (MATEWAN, GUN CRAZY, CHARLEY VARRICK) to the absolute dogshit (NURSE 3D, THE VIDEO DEAD).

I now have two copies of the GROSSE POINTE BLANK trailer in 35mm. I'm considering making a window shade with one of them
