Last month I had two in person Pow! screenings across the country from each other on the same day! Thanks to Newport Beach Film Festival for screening us in SoCal at 11am on 10/18, Potlatch Fund for screening us at 8pm Ilani in WA and to my flights for being on time so I could make these events!

I'm in NYC this week, desperately trying to get an invite to Andrew Cuomo's official election night watch party so I can watch him lose in person.

Last weekend I was invited to screen Pow! in front of hundreds of members of my tribe followed by a talkback with Cowlitz culture keeper Suzanne Donaldson. Here’s a selfie we took onstage with our tribe’s chair Bill Iyall. I’m so humbled that I get to do this stuff!

I wrote the Halloween episode of Molly of Denali and in only two weeks, a clip from it has nearly 2 millions views on IG! It’s insane to me that the cuts to PBS robbed us of more seasons of this fun, Native show. People love it and it’s a hit, but that’s not enough I guess?

A lot of people have been asking me how I’m voting in the 2025 Animation Guild elections so I put together this voter’s guide! Turnout for these elections can be low, but if elected these folks would really help TAG fight hard for animation workers during our next negotiations!

Today @goldie.bsky.social 's book Personal Branding for Introverts is officially out in the world! If you’re at all someone who struggles with "finding your brand", I recommend picking this book up. It’s written with heart, and in a way that is easy for anyone to understand!

As a Native I’m all for us celebrating Columbus Day, I just wish they moved it from early October to January 9th, the day Columbus and his men maybe had sex with a bunch of manatees which is for real, no joke, detailed in his travel journal. Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day!

Pow! won Best Indigenous Film at Cordillera International Film Festival last month! It was so fun screening in Reno, hanging with our Remaining Native fam and just absolutely dominating every carnival game at the Circus, Circus midway. Perfect weekend!

A week ago @goldie.bsky.social and I screened Pow! at Catalina Film Festival! Fun island, fun festival and even more fun two hours we spent driving around Avalon in a golf cart looking for cats to pet. Great experience no notes!

I wrote an episode for this season of Alma’s Way! I’m such a fan of Sonia Manzano, Lin-Manuel Miranda and everyone at Fred Rogers and I could not be happier to get to play in their sandbox. They even let me sneak in the flag of the Navajo Nation, which is just neat as heck!

It was an honor to screen my work at NatiVisions Film Festival on the CRIT reservation in Parker, AZ last week and I’m so happy that Pow! won the Best Short Film Award! Definitely make it out to this fest if you ever get a chance!

Rubble & Crew just debuted Fire Captain Catáwi, a new Native character inspired by my Cowlitz tribe! Watching Nickelodeon as a kid is a HUGE reason I'm a writer today, so getting to develop this character with the Rubble team and Cowlitz culture keeper Suzanne Donaldson is just so neat!

I was a consulting producer on one of Graham Greene’s films a few years ago and I got the chance to host a panel he was on and hang in his orbit for a weekend. Like any great Native uncle, he was very grumpy and deeply hilarious! RIP to a true dang legend of Native cinema.

Pow! won Best Animated Film at @sidewalkfilm.bsky.social ! This is our 5th film festival award win for Pow and it couldn’t have come from a cooler fest!!

I’m beyond thrilled to announce that Pow! is having our Canadian Premiere at Calgary International Film Festival on September 27th as part of the "We (Are) A Family" block with a ton of great shorts! This is our 9th Oscar Qualifying film festival acceptance which is just the coolest thing ever!

I can’t thank The Roxie Theater enough for including Pow! in their First Looks Oscar-Qualifying Theatrical Release program. We’re screening from August 22nd - 28th to make us officially eligible for The Academy Awards. If you live in the Bay area come through!

I had so much fun screening Pow! at @thepfcat.bsky.social last week! It was my first time screening on my people's homeland and it meant a lot that so many members of my tribe showed up to support. A Cowlitz youth even made me a Spirit Rangers necklace which is just the best thing ever!
