🎉GOOD NEWS! The jury ruled in favor of NDN Collective and the individual plaintiffs in the federal civil rights class action lawsuit filed in March 2022 against the Retsel Corporation, owner of the Grand Gateway Hotel.

Day three update of the NDN Collective vs. Retsel Corporation trial. We are proud of and grateful to the plaintiffs in the case for courageously sharing their experiences on the stand and holding racism accountable, both for our ancestors and for future generations to come.

The last few days have been intense. Our team has attended the trial every day, listening to racist remarks presented by Retsel Corporation. This case is a byproduct of systemic racism. The trial will continue until Friday, December 19th.

NDN Collective is launching the “Feed The People” campaign in response to the SNAP benefits crisis. The U.S. Government shutdown is disrupting SNAP, deepening food insecurity in many Native and rural communities.

LANDBACK wool blankets are available now. The LANDBACK blanket was created in collaboration with Eighth Generation and includes geometric designs inspired by Lakota beadwork, quillwork and Navajo rugs.

Yazmín Novelo is a Mayan sociolinguist, communications specialist, and singer-songwriter from Peto, Yucatán, Mexico. Yazmín has developed projects to help revitalize the Mayan language via music, written pieces, radio, and live performances both locally and in the United States.
