It would take a two-word amendment to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to subject ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers to the same liability for constitutional violations that local and state officers currently face. If Congress actually cared about what it's seeing, it could pass that overnight.

I’ve always hated the terms “red state” and “blue state” (and now “purple”). It’s such a reductive way of describing very complicated electorates and makes it way too easy to divide us and we didn’t think of ourselves as “red” or “blue” 15 years ago.

I agree 💯. AECOM is the engineering firm. Huge domestic & international firm. The architect is from DC, McCrery Architects. They could’ve refused to work on what will be seen as the desecration of one of our nation’s greatest landmarks. What an awful, awful legacy decision for your company.

and if Republicans in Congress had actually been interested in improving government efficiency, they would have done more over the past couple decades to hire and incentivize more acquisition professionals to achieve better procurement results. They’ve never really cared, though.
