CONTINGENT PHILOSOPHERS! (Contractually, not metaphysically). I’ve been a big fan of @contingent-mag.bsky.social for a while. This year they’re letting philosophy piggyback one of their institutions: the year-end list of books and articles written by non tenured/permanent academics in that year.

I have a new paper coming out in Inquiry called ‘The Perils of Epistemic Idealism': philpapers.org/rec/SHITPO-40. I argue that especially in applied, political work, philosophers have a tendency to assume that political harms are primarily a product of false beliefs and misguided concepts.

Wanted to share a paper I have coming out, "On the Value of Changing Your Mind" (philpapers.org/rec/SHIOTV). I make the case that changing your mind (when it comes at a cost and in response to the evidence) is the best evidence we can have that an agent is committed to epistemic goods.

This piece from the New Yorker (www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...) is a nice overview of some important research, but its framing is a good representative of the genre that’s worth briefly critically delving into.
