Falling in line with much of what I like to write and share is explored beautifully in a piece by @strange.website. Forging the internet into a better place, with federation, accessibility, and interoperability. Stuff like this inspires me to build more and stop using compartmentalized platforms.

Jeff Merrick's newest build, the PS-85, is a DIYed slate-style cyberDeck inspired by the Alien movie universe. Jeff's other Typeframe boards are equally as astonishing, and the branding/icon work is top tier. Wish I was more engineering-inclined so I could build my own one day.

Utilities like an image converter, background remover, favicon generator, and contrast checker were monumental for my redesign—Delphi Tools by @delphi.rmv.fyi provided them all and more! Free, no accounts, no hassle, and all handmade. Palette generator was by far my favourite to explore and use.

The newest issue (#55) of my newsletter (clicks ‘n clacks) is live, featuring an all new design and layout! I'm super proud of how it all turned out!

saw my first 3D movie (Avatar) in quite a while today and forgot how much fun it could be! although as a glasses wearer the comfort level has not improved at all 🤓

update—it's here and it's awesome...the tinkering stage has begun!! heard good things about Crosspoint and Sumi for custom firmwares so I am starting there

One of my most used macOS tools, Monocle by Dominik Kandravy, just got a huge 3.0 update!! Complete visual overhaul (even blurring behind a transparent menu bar now), more customization, and a ton more features! Check it out -> monocle.heyiam.dk

We noticed a rising interest regarding the use of AI in browsers. To be clear about our position on this: Zen currently is disabling all AI features included in Firefox and will continue to do so.

Last week my partner (@themoondontshine.bsky.social) and I explored bringing the clicks 'n clacks brand into real life—the process of creating these was a new experience for the both of us. Hope to design more like this soon!

I was in Cybersecurity before moving to product and believe it’s essential for everyone to learn! I miss it, and Hacktivate by @twostraws.bsky.social fills that void. It offers 200+ challenges to learn about encryption, injection attacks, digital forensics & more—all with a real hacker’s toolkit!

Didn't get a chance last week to highlight one of my favourite features from issue 45—Click Browser by @jackbogdan.com Keeps getting better with each update—simple, no frills, Arc-inspired browser, crazy fast on Mac Silicon, and I love Jacks personal aesthetic that he's bringing to this project.

I've sorely missed the old Launchpad since updating to macOS Tahoe- @sergeynewton.bsky.social's LaunchMe app has been a lifesaver! It brings back so many features, helps me organize my overwhelming number of apps, and greatly surpasses Launchpad in terms of customizability and personalization too!

HUGE thank you to @3-3.fyi for hosting me today and to those who attended the call! It was so great to see everyone's faces again and the Q&A engagement was top tier. It felt amazing to fully share my story behind co-founding and building Fathom. :)

New app and community on the rise!! Keebuilder recently released their iOS app (Google Play coming soon)—I've been using it to browse keyboard builds, search vendors, and stay on top of upcoming Interest Checks! Great design, already active, growing quick, and can't wait to see what comes next!

An app that has brought me great joy this week has been Dockitty—a simple but adorable app that brings a small pixel pal to your Mac. Its free version includes all the main features and it keeps me both on task and just distracted enough from the work day!

New keeb alert! The group buy for this magnificent new premium board—The Manta—by @alexotos.com and Bowl Keyboards is underway. It’s got a wavy, fin-like weight, precisely tuned acoustic internal ridging, high-quality metals/materials, and eye-catching colourways!

A new addition to my morning routine is using the new Yume Journal app—made by @dennush.bsky.social and @lorantcsonka.bsky.social—to jot down my sleepy dreams and ramblings. It’s loaded with sleek animations, a beautiful dark interface and is so simple to love and use!

During my switchover from Spotify to Apple Music, one of the most useful (and most stunning) apps I discovered was Denim—a playlist cover creation tool. Made by @ashwinsrihari.bsky.social, Demin transformed my dull default Apple covers into eye-catching, themed artwork!

I had a lot of fun this week rediscovering Clockology and designing some of my own watch faces. Here are a few modelled after the watches seen in the new Fantastic Four movie—since I missed the FF X Fossil drop a few weeks ago 😢

For those of you who are missing Pocket since it shut down—Folio is a fantastic alternative. Made by Nick Chapman (previously worked on Pocket), Folio is a modern spiritual successor to Mozilla’s read-it-later app loaded with some wonderful upgrades and easy-to-use features! Check it out below:

This week I’ve been exploring using Fullpack—made by signerlabs.com —it’s a powerful, local, private and fast luggage/packing companion app powered by Apple’s VisionKit! Lots of fun experimenting with scanning items and building outfits for future trips (my fave feature) ✈️ 🧳

Fun app find this week is Octave—a free coffee pour-over teaching tool with a whole lot of personality 😼 ☕. Made by @laziestbarista.bsky.social, Octave’s got a cool retro interface and helps you build a better brew each time. I’m not a big pour-over guy, but I think this is a great place to start.

I’ve mentioned before in my ramblings that I never had a good solution for saving/bookmarking videos but I’ve found the missing piece! Play by @mactanaka.bsky.social is helping me watch-it-later, follow creators, search, tag, and filter any video I stumble upon! Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

spent much of my time this week having fun with @puzzmo.com! so many puzzles to explore (especially the collaborative crosswords), and such a wholesome/great team running it!

One of my fave features in clicks ‘n clacks this week is the MW Dim Sum keycap set by nessasaurus!! It’s her first set, dedicated to the delicious traditional Cantonese meal—it’s got cute artisan collabs and matching mouse/desk pads. Definitely going to be picking this up for a future project.

Bookmarking/collections app Sortd (linktr.ee/thesortdapp) just released last week, and has already been super helpful for organizing all my random Reels. Some cool tech going on behind-the-scenes to extract info from your vids—even pinning locations on its built-in map!
