I have 100% solid information that Wizards is gonna do an unban. How do I know this? Simple, I ignore anything that would suggest otherwise, especially commonly accessible facts on production timelines, and yell a lot about how I alone understand The Implications. Ironclad style of thinking.

I think commander gets easier as you lean into consistency rather than leaning into speed, answers, and power. Having layers of guarantee means I'm always doing what I set out to do. Having an uncompromising game plan is worth more than any silver bullets I might load up.

To go ever so slightly deeper on this, formats are comprised essentially of their restrictions and gimmicks. Commander's Gimmick sets one of its restrictions. I don't have the patience to argue around the idea of open hybrid as a vibe. I might talk with proponents trying to refine an actual rule.

Was thinking about Rule 0 conversations around things like my Assemble the Legion deck. One thing that stands out in my mind is that introducing it as "Creatureless Go Wide" and clarifying that the deck has no cards with the Creature type was usually the bit that made folks comfortable.

Another really good lesson to learn from 60 card magic is the difference between playing to win, and playing to not lose. If you're taking out consistency and adding removal, you may lose less, but odds are you just help someone else win in commander. Advancing your own plan is usually superior.

One of the best skills to learn from 60 card or other 1v1 comp formats is what you need to solve a boardstate and whether you can get it from your deck. Too often, I see folks "looking for their outs" but they can't explain what that would be in that situation.
