So uh, a few months ago I made a post on my Mastodon about being psyched about getting a very early Wii-U devkit (a white one "V4"), the first one that had been sold/dumped publicly. Well uh today I can say we successfully secured 4 (Factory/Nintendo Only) Wii-U devkits that are just as old.

Destiny didn’t fall short of expectations, LEADERSHIP did. Some of the most out of touch people who only saw the $ & held a beloved franchise to the coals because it didn’t fit their margins. Devs suffocated under the immeasurable weight of their greed. Everyone who has worked there deserves better.

Just thought that it's funny to mention, the largest files on the Wii-U CDN by far are from the game "One PIece Unlimited World Red" which means not only is it the longest running anime, it also eats up the most storage space of Nintendo's CDN (pre switch era), as well as my mirrors.

Soo wii-u devkits have the ability to read files from the PC rather than their own internal NAND (in fact the default mode reads every file from the PC all the way from boot1->files on disk). Well now that i've figured the basics of it out, enough to unbrick them, the question had to be asked....

super non-important, but is cool to me thing with help from @gerbilsoft.bsky.social , myself and gerbilsoft got vWii working on wii-u devkits, and dev consoles. Wii-U Kiosk units, Starlight Units, CAT-R units, and CAT-DEV units can now launch a wii menu for the first time.

i enjoy moments just as it starts to rain. the world goes from dry surfaces spotted with rain, through some interstitial period where you can see both textures, to completely soaked. it's never clear exactly when the change was, and it's somehow always difficult to imagine the dry texture again

I want to love Bluesky. It's clear the team behind it hasn't prioritized the safety of too many users, most of them Black. When pressured, the team implements fixes that do less than the bare minimum. Bluesky needs to prioritize content moderation five weeks ago. Barring that, it needs to today.

Re-Reading the whole thread to dev-security, and SSL certs about the folks who did the whole RCE on acme.sh thing. It's a very special kind of something to tell off folks for "swearing" who didn't swear, and are literally capable of shutting you down.

The amount of folks sending me un-alt text'd images has sky rocketed in both professional&personal, and i always play it off like "it's okay to forget", or try to do more work myself to identify it, but I'm so TIRED, and it's bugging me. Can the people just PLEASE. I just wanna be gay do crime.
