My bike was still there! This wasn't a major surprise as i left it in a proper lockup. I'm still glad though. And the cycle home, though breezy, was safe. Pleased to have got back on the bike so soon and not let the nervousness set in.

Today is one of the few times i've bailed on the cycle commute because of the weather. The wind was so strong on the way in i was almost blown into traffic and it gave me a fright. Decided cycling home in the wind, rain and dark whilst tired was just not safe. got a taxi home instead.

What an excellent resource

I presume that writers of books (fiction and non fiction) get to a stage in editing where they can barely look at their own writing anymore, throw their hands in the air and exclaim "i hate it! I hate it all! I am done!" Before grudgingly sitting back down and continuing.

Half way through. I'm nominally doing this for lent despite not being Christian as it stemmed from a conversation with a friend at a pancake party about reflection and "gratitude" as both a wellbeing practice and a spiritual practice. It's a process i find helpful and gets me through rough times

I finished The Eighth Life by Nino Haratischvili last night. Oh my word. What a book. This is one that will stay with me for a long time i think. It's long and heavy going at times but it is so full of character, story and emotion. Seriously considering buying the paperback #books 📚💙 #reading

I've noticed a lot of spam/bot posts on the #booksky feed recently. Usually 3 or 4 posts all in a row with exactly the same text and image from different accounts. The accounts all have like single digit follower numbers and look like bots but are clearly supposed to look like real authors.

Well that's quite the range of ratings! Lovely varied genres as well

Finished Queer by William S Burroughs. Deeply unpleasant read but i understand its place in the ouvre of 20th century queer lit and for that is worth reading. Don't get me wrong i like experimental literature. But this didn't do it for me. 📚💙
