This would be a huge win. This was their chance to put their "red team" views into the official record and the best they could do was to present an epic failure. They'll claim it was just ideological opposition, but in the end their view of the science crashed and burned in front of everyone.

Once the bewilderment clears people will simply realize they've been betrayed. I said after David Eby flipped to LNG-cheeleader: "I'd love to know what gets said to people to flip them to oil & gas once they're in office" and I say it again now.

I don't think worry about the impacts is driving the doomism, I think it's the concern that we are not seeing significant policy/ behavioural change, adaptation strategies do nothing/make things worse & many climate solutions are causing new problems. At least that is what makes me worry.

This piece really pisses me off, because I was one of the several thousand climate and environment people who actively protested to defend the exact Australian renewable subsidy policies that people like Fawcett are now somehow claiming we're viciously opposed to No: we had to fight to defend them
