see, okay. it is kind of a dark comedy but usually I believe dark comedies are less ... conflicted in the response they want you to have? usually something uncomfortable happens and you briefly adopt the mindset of the morally destitute for a few guilt-free transgressive chuckles

I always struggle to characterise the genre of DRAE's writing because while it very much mixes comedy and horror, it's definitely not a horror comedy (the main element isn't genre commentary) nor would I classify it as a dark comedy (the emphasis is largely on the horrors of the world)

I don't care what kodaka says about it's marketability, they should do something with ultra despair girls. I don't care if everyone else hates it. it's one of the best-written games in the series. I'll buy 15 copies if I have to

bizarre and frustrating trend i've been seeing on here is people treating critical opinions of games/movies/etc. as censorship or anti-art. like saying you didn't like something is denying the artist their right to express their own artistic vision. it's not the end of the world to have an opinion
