One of the weirdest things about getting older is that young people start talking nostalgically about periods of history that you lived through, in truly bizarre & selective ways. Like, the way Gen Z talks about the 90s ... as tho the entire country was composed of single-earners who owned houses.

Trump's whole shtick is his eagerness to do the next *more* dramatic, *more* heinous thing. But once you get to the point of starting an unwinnable, illegal war that's killing civilians and destabilizing the global economy, your options on how to go even bigger become limited (and grim).
