Disney swallowing Fox has already yielded less movies in the marketplace, which along with the pandemic has greatly hurt theaters. I live close to a 12-plex that is often playing only 5 or 6 movies on those screens. This would be utterly catastrophic for exhibition and needs to be blocked.

I’d have to say BATMAN (1989). Burton was the first director I knew by name, and while I didn’t know the word “auteur,” I became aware of directors having hallmarks because of it. The gothic atmosphere and romanticism led to my love of horror. Elfman’s score led to my love of film scores. (1/2)

I’m not sure how the IMAX contracting works, but if it can be done, since WB already has that week, I won’t be surprised if SINNERS comes back to “true” 70mm and Digital IMAX screens on 5/16 and that FINAL DESTINATION: BLOODLINES only plays the “LIMAX” screens.

My jaw is still on the floor after watching SINNERS on 70mm IMAX. An absolute show-stopper.
