So, there's a spider living in our bathroom now. He hangs out on the ceiling, hurting no one, so I have toughened up my arachnophobia and decided he can stay so long as he doesn't get on the towels or anything. He's got super long legs that move creepily, so I've named him Doug Jones.

Had a long online meeting at work, and then all my fun errands I had planned were so fruitless and frustrating, I didn't even enjoy being in a used bookstore. Time to hide at home and try to recover my peace.

Just finished two farewell events for coworkers, who lost their jobs due to budget cuts and shortfalls. One of them was my officemate, which was pretty gutting. Don't think much work will happen for the rest of the week.

It was a bittersweet weekend. We went to an event and were surrounded by family and friends as my best friend and I were elevated as peers of the SCA, her a Pelican and me a Laurel. Upon coming home though, our 17yo cat had waited for us and was not improving. We said goodbye shortly after.

Me: I'm proud of myself, I resisted the urge to buy a treat. Brain: Excellent! We should reward ourselves by buying Different Treat. Me: N O

I got to chat briefly with one of the chem instructors about the Smaug decal on my car. It was a delight to get to start my morning with talking about my emotional support dead dude. Tolkien wasn't a saint, but he was an overall nerdy weirdo wife guy and I just think he's neat.

Reading Dracula Daily this year and I need someone to portray Dracula with book accuracy to this incredible detail.
