Refuk’s fiscal prudence appears to extend only as far as their next vanity project, their Nottinghamshire council leader, Mick Barton, blew £75,000 on flags while public services rot. It’s less ‘responsible governance’ and more an extravagant circle-jerk of faux patriotism at the taxpayer’s expense.

Am wondering if all of those suddenly deciding they’re against communities living “parallel lives” might reconsider their support of religious schools? Or indeed private ones?

The Jarrow Crusade, in which 200 unemployed men marched to London calling for government intervention to restore jobs, began on this day 1936. Unsuccessful at the time, but helped to shape postwar attitudes to employment and social justice.

I don’t give a shit if JD Vance doesn’t give a shit about the Constitution. Striking civilian boats in international waters is both unconstitutional and a war crime. The party of “law and order” clearly doesn’t care about respecting it.

Nigel Farage is unpatriotic. Nigel Farage has reportedly flown across the Atlantic to call for economic sanctions against Britain. Nothing could be less patriotic than actively encouraging a foreign power to take action to make the British people poorer.

One could interpret military flyovers purposefully scheduled by Trump for this time and unrelated to any other major event as an implied threat to the survivors. Nothing says “I will wield the full force of the federal government against you to try to silence you” quite like a military display.
