The November 18 City Council meeting, meant to be the last of the current council's term, started strong with 90 minutes of public comment honoring Marianne Labarge's service. Council announcements brought another 45 minutes of thanks between councilors and a standing ovation for LaBarge.

The outpouring of support for outgoing councilor LaBarge is genuinely heartwarming. It's so good to see a sendoff befitting her tenure and her tireless work through her career.

This is a departure from the usual Hamp Muni nonsense, but Salem, Ma's own political activist/artist, Rob Potylo, has spent a lot of his career using absurdity to challenge the right. He has been detained by ICE in Portland and is being charged with trespassing.

Besides the fact that Mayor Dan seems to pop off at anyone who disagrees with him, he is often also just saying incorrect things. Aggressive, loud, and wrong are all super qualities for a leader.
