This week we made a big step to delivering universal child care, announcing the first neighborhoods that’ll receive 2,000 free 2-K seats this fall. Best part? Spending time with the reason we’re in this fight: the young New Yorkers who deserve the brightest future possible.

This lovely photo brought tears of joy and hope to my eyes, considering it showed up on my feed right under a handful of posts about Iran, followed by an image of Trump’s fucking ballroom-to-be. Thank you for your devotion to bettering the lives of citizens.

🚨 Big news for the littlest New Yorkers: 2-K is coming.   Starting this year, we’re delivering 2,000 FREE child care seats for 2-year-olds across our city.   By Fall 2027, we'll be ready to serve 12,000 kids.   Grateful to our partner in this work, @governor.ny.gov, for her support.

Mamdani definitely lining up the teenagers-who-will-be-voting-age-in-four-years vote for his re-election by declaring tomorrow a real snow day: no zoom, no async, just a snow day.

NYC public schools: Tomorrow (Mon 2/23) is a full snow day —no remote learning, no logging on. Our first real snow day in seven years. This blizzard is serious. Stay inside. Travel ban 9pm–noon tomorrow so crews can keep streets clear. After the worst passes, bundle up and enjoy the snow — safely.

No way this doesn't bring up memories of Obama with children - these kids are at ease, they're having fun, there's no evil or stench in the room, and clearly Mamdani is enjoying their presence and silliness. Make America GOOD again.

Thrilled to stand alongside New York’s Cutest to announce our new request for information for 2-K and 3-K providers. This is the first step toward universal childcare, so I brought in the experts.

Mamdani dropped into remote classes to apologize for not giving the kids a full snow day. He read to the little ones and the older ones were notably excited. It’s a hell of a thing.

It is delightfully strange for New Yorkers to have a humane and cuddly mayor. If I saw a photo of Giuliani with his arms wrapped around a bunch of kids, I’d assume he was trying to arrest them.
