Reading the Marty Supreme critiques, I think my favorite observation is from Alison Wilmore, "In terms of wallowing in discomfort, Frownland makes Marty Supreme look like Forrest Gump." I would say in the Safdie/Bronstein universe Marty Supreme pretty much is Forrest Gump, if Gump was a nogoodnik.

I have to say, having watched Marty Supreme, Abel Ferrara is a lot more vigorous than I remember.

I don’t mean to sound extreme, but I don’t think we should have torture camps for people with criminal records either.

I highly recommend watching this segment, not just because the CBS News execs and the White House didn’t want you to, but because these men were tortured and they deserved to have their voices heard.
