Merry Christmas from Chateau Rivers! Today is all about pajamas, multiple breakfasts, mulled cider, and relaxation. Mr Rivers made an amazing first breakfast, and now we're settling down with some Doctor Who holiday specials. It's hard to imagine a better day.

Saw the Wicked movie yesterday! And it was one of the best stage-to-screen adaptations I've seen. I have way too much to say about it for a short post, but suffice to say I LOVED it, and I'm glad I saw the stage version a couple of weeks ago for comparison.

I'm back in spa paradise, this time with my sister, and tonight's agenda is baths, cheese, champagne, chocolate, fruit, and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Ultimate girls night.

Good morning, JFK! I'm not quite ready to come home, but I have plenty of other adventures in store this fall - this is just the beginning.

My last night in NY: Barenaked Ladies with Toad the Wet Sprocket! Yep, I'm a 90s chick. I'm all the way out in Long Island at LIU, and it's like being in a whole different world - so quiet and peaceful (at least until the concert starts!).

Sunday: afternoon tea, Gatsby (ooh, the costumes and dancing!), and Life & Trust by the creators of Sleep No More. Immersive theater is not for everyone, but it is DEFINITELY for me, and I had an incredible time wandering and experiencing for 3 hours.

Saturday was packed from 6 am onward with an old school friend and his wife, with whom I caught Suffs and Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. Talk about a day of performers which can blow the roof off a theater! Jenn Colella! Adam Lambert! Auli'i Cravalho! Big wows, and an adult Hi-C.

Friday was sponsored by my darling boy toy, absent in body but very present in spirit. Soup dumplings! A nap! All in preparation for a truly beautiful evening of champagne, French food, and Water for Elephants, a circusy extravaganza based on the book.

Thursday: a nap, a matinee of the Outsiders in which my purse was filled with simulated gravel, pub dinner, then Hell's Kitchen. The 2 shows that vied for Best Musical this year - Outsiders eked out the win, both were powerful. Turns out I only know 2 Alicia Keyes songs, though.

We're almost to the end of #birthdaymonth, but you know me, I like to keep the party rolling as long as possible. Tonight I'm making the most of it with sushi, my last Broadway show (Oh, Mary!), and my last birthday dessert - street waffles.

I'm in ye olde hometowne for a while helping out my mom, so with no sexy adventures on tap, you'll have to settle for #ThrowbackThursday! A mid-party costume change, probably 2015 or so.

It's been a whirlwind week of #birthdaymonth with family, friends new and old, concerts, dinners, duos, and some really stand-out sessions. My gratitude is off the charts, y'all.

Got my STI tests and my annual COVID/flu shots today! I won't be requiring proof, but I do request that all my visitors get their seasonal vaccinations this fall - let's keep each other healthy, shall we?

#birthdaymonth is off to a great start with a visit from my dad, who lives out of the country. We took a road trip to a concert and generally palled around with my siblings and enjoyed each other's company. It's such a gift to have a great family of origin.
