I'm a big fan of Sally Kirkland, and for the longest time, I would watch anything she was in, good or bad, lead role or bit part. It was Schneider's "Big Stan" that finally made me say "Y'know, I don't have to see EVERYTHING she's in..."

Very sad news. I always enjoyed her work, and when I still used Twitter, her posts made her one of the most entertaining presences there.

What's cool about comics is you can say things about Sam Kieth like "he was a singular artist with more thought provoking, honest and introspective work than your average indie sad boy could conceive of" and also "he drew the coolest wolverine ever, like if wolverine was a guitar solo"

Farewell to the great artist Sam Kieth. I was lucky enough to meet him a couple of times, and even more lucky to get some sketches from him: Epicurus the Sage in a big jam sketch, Jonah Hex, and Aphrodite (as she WOULD have appeared if Epicurus had continued) inked by Kieth over Messner-Loebs.

Reposting a Chuck Norris sketch I commissioned a while back from Jarrod Alberich. Alberich specializes in drawing sketches on detached book pages, so when I found a cheap copy of Michael Blodgett's novel "Hero and the Terror" (yes, that movie was based on a novel!), I couldn't resist getting this.

Farewell to Chuck Norris. Oddly enough, my strongest memory of him wasn't from any of his own works, but an improv show where a performer made up a Chuck Norris theme song on the spot: "I'm Chuck Norris! My fists are hard as stone! I'm Chuck Norris! My bones are made of bone!"
