To be honest, I don't always love painting. Often it is frustrating and incredibly laborious. BUT the pride, satisfaction, and joy that comes from pushing through that and creating something I love is what gives it meaning. There would be none of that without the process.

I painted these as my big middle finger to authoritarianism. They feel more relevant by the day. I'm turning them into print sets and will be donating the proceeds. What orgs would you like to see these funds go to?

Painting is this weird emotional yo-yo for me between proud and pleased, and extreme displeasure and dissatisfaction. Somehow these opposite emotions often exist simultaneously.

Still floored that somebody made a cosplay based on my work. This came out awesome!

Also don't do this to yourself. I can't tell you how many good productive days have ended in tears because it felt like no matter how much stuff I did it was never enough due to unrealistic expectations I set for myself. Now I literally write down my wins/accomplishments on a weekly basis. It helps

Yuuuuup. Distraction is the death of creativity. Boredom is the birth of it. I once legit took 2 weeks off of... almost everything, and labeled it my 'pursuit of boredom'. It was kinda painful, but it gave me a much needed mental reset when I was stuck in a major rut.
