I've had this for 2 weeks, put on just over 200 miles, and can now definitely say 1,000,000/10 no notes

thinking about how much my primary riding buddy & i will "kids these days" about how people can't deviate from a planned route or make their own despite being people who ride over 5k miles a year ok fair both of us used to do 60+ mile rides w/o navigation on the regular & most would not choose that

So if you ride with power strava gives you a graph of your performance strength and today I saw someone with a circle and just what is that like cause mine looks like a bugle in favor of sprinting power

Honestly a shame the UCI hasn't banned ugly ass aero helmets for being crimes against aesthetics but I guess they're too busy making it harder for small people to ride bikes that fit them for "safety"

Several years ago I made a custom sturgeon fender with groundkeeper. I'm doing a fresh one sized for road and gravel bikes with my fav sturgeon, the critically endangered pallid sturgeon. You can get one if you want, be a Big Fish Fan:

If you or someone you know is between 4’11” and 5’3” and is looking for a cool deal on an adventure bike, buy my surly cross check! It’s a 2012 size 42 frame and fork and literally everything else on it has been upgraded.

Also the older I get the more absolutely wild it is that I was allowed to drive on highways with a permit at 14. I think North Dakota was phasing that out but damn that’s truly insane. I shouldn’t have been trusted behind the wheel before 25

IL raising the age at which you’re required to retake a road test to renew your license but imo we should make everyone retake ever 8-12 years always cause lots of people love to yell at me about their perceived rules of the road while they drive dangerously

This is a fantastic article and I'm glad to see this issue getting wider coverage. I am also glad the article focuses on how these giant vehicles are marketed as a way to assert your dominance over other road users.

Electric vehicles are also on average heavier which increases both road wear and the rate of tire breakdown. So yes, they are reducing air pollution but I lose my shit every time someone pitches this as the solve for car pollution; no, that's actually just driving less.

I probably don't listen to enough pop music in English to really say but it really feels like there are a disproportionately large number of songs about butterflies in Spanish compared to English. Given cultural associations with butterflies in both languages, it makes sense but feels notable

still think legit the best karaoke i ever saw was years ago just having tacos in logan square (didn't know it was karaoke night). i watched this lady in like her 40s-50s absolutely crush the spoken verses part of Shakira's "Loca" in addition to being able to do the chorus justice

No one has ever died because they did not have a curbside parking spot. But countless people on bicycles have been killed because we value parking more than a protected bike lane.

This week has me sitting back in the space I was in right after I got doored. When I’d crashed other times it was possible to feel like if I’d done things differently I could have avoided it. There is nothing you could have done to anticipate a dooring.
