Hey everyone? This is the planet telling us we have made her sick. It’s climate change. Maybe it’s not popular (?) to call it as it is, but that’s what is happening. It’s not just a blip. Just look at how many days soccer has been cancelled this summer (I know!)

Our province is on fire + the gov is investing in a new gas + diesel plant... in an ecologically sensitive area. Come on? Greenhouse gases, like those that will be emitted from this plant, upfront and operation., are directly linked to the state of our forests. Efficiency, sufficiency, renewables.

I think closing down our public forests warrants breaking my SM ban for August (on Bluesky only). I published a peer reviewed paper on closing down parks during COVID, impacts on health, and what community design should be doing. (Hint: more nature everywhere) Giving this situation some thoughts…

#ThirdPlaces: the City of #Fredericton released the draft South Core Secondary Municipal Plan and really emphasizes the imp of third places. It’s pretty good. And got me thinking about the old Pony Club bldg at Odell Park. Why isn’t that a cafe or another third place? It’s a missed opportunity.

#Fredericton: #Concrete has no place below 10 stories above ground. We don't need to build all of these low and mid-rise buildings using one of the most carbon intensive building materials on the planet (is it even greener concrete?) Concrete has a place but not everywhere. #EmbodiedCarbon

When I look at #housing prices in #Fredericton now, it really makes me sad. We had affordable housing here prior to Covid and I believe greed is the reason we don't anymore. We could have focused on caring for each other and not on making the most money. Think of how much better off we would be...

Colour! One of the things I love about #TheNorthFace over other outdoors brands is that there is a lot less colour/fit gendering for kids. Blue? Pink? Targeted to **kids** with boy and girl models. And the pink is without the odd fit thing in the waist/sleeves. Kids love colour!

I’m going to stop complaining on here but (it’s a goal)… a SFH goes for sale on the hill and the REAs, in their pitch, incl investors. WHY? This is a major part of the problem. Not just supply/demand. Housing should be a right for all.. not just the few that have the privilege. So gross.
