I think imprisonment is a primal fear. Being trapped, helpless, lost in the dark, or completely dependent on, or at the mercy of someone, who might not have your best interests in mind, with no way out, is so scary. And then you have your mind racing in dark places. #HorrorWritersChat

I love stories that use both. I’m thinking of the movie The Descent. The characters are lost and trapped in a cave deep underground (my nightmare), and the main character is also trapped in her grief. It gives the story extra depth. #HorrorWritersChat
