Today’s lab meeting was led by @berkeleyeducation.bsky.social grad students Jetta McPhee and Elise Levin-Guracar who offered to host a session for our undergraduates applying to grad programs this year (and beyond!).

In a new pub, we examined subgroup differences in Asian American children, particularly 1) the diversity of math achievement and 2) what factors predict this diversity. Ultimately, we wanted to see whether the factors predicting math achievement is the same across subgroups. doi.org/10.1080/1040...

Super important study to what we know. In case anyone else is wondering: "‘URM’ is coded 1 for candidates who are URMs (Black/African American or Hispanic) and 0 for candidates who are white/Caucasian or Asian/Asian American." This is a personal pet peeve that does not diminish the study at all. 1/2
