According to Justwatch, also on Prime is Takeshi Kitano's debut, Violent Cop, which is very indebted to Friedkin and a tremendously potent, bleak film all its own. Kitano has cited To Live and Die in L.A. as a personal favourite.

I guess Broken Rage is my first new release of 2025 and what a fun start. Kubi was one of the best of last year and it's a shame it seems to have mostly slipped under the radar, but this is Kitano at his most playful, poking fun at his competing personas of laconic gangster brute and gag man.
