Apple Platforms Developer. Views are my own.
This weekend I hope to get as many of my (extremely late) iOS 26 updates out as I can. Thankfully a lot of the work was already done, I just never sent them out for review.

Next, I have an idea for integrating Foundation Model into one of my projects. I haven't looked at the API yet so I don't know if I'll be able to pull it off, but I'm definitely gonna try!

Spent today playing around with liquid glass. Spent a lot of time tweaking colors, animations, spacing, and playing with the new glass effects. Also finally got that image scaling to work!

I finally got this working today. The answer seems obvious now but I had to limit how much the image could scale so that it didn't grow larger than its container.

The developer sessions have been making me want to build a new app to play with all these new APIs. So many fun new toys. New WebKit might be the thing that finally gets me to learn a little JavaScript.

The new Foundation Model framework is my sleeper hit of dub dub. Offline. Capable. Perfect API design. Instructions, tool calling and more! I wrote up an intro over it, this thing is gonna be fun to play with:

Did I imagine Apple saying devs have a year to update to using Liquid Glass? I feel like I heard that and nobody else did. Am I going crazy??

The answer is yes, it’s possible. Figuring out the how is going to be my project this weekend.

I also want to figure out if it’s possible to accept arguments directly in phrases. Like instead of “Log a Pokémon as caught in ShinyDex” and then having to prompt for the name or ID, can we can use “Log a Charizard as caught in ShinyDex” and skip the extra step?

How do you all go about informing users of all of the phrases they can use with App Intents?

The App Intents update to ShinyDex just got approved. For this update I also worked with a local designer to get a new icon made for it!

Shortcuts and Siri integration has been shipped and is waiting for approval from the App Store review team. I was sitting on this one for a while. There's some more shortcuts I wanted to add but I felt like the ones I had working were good enough to release.

I had to completely rebuild CodeDump but the new version is up in the store and ready to go. I fixed some bugs I found in the previous version and added some much needed functionality like being able to select all files in a directory in the tree view with one click!

Supposed to be working on deep links but I've spent two hours trying to get the image to stretch when the user scrolls down. I'm close but now it stutters inside of the ScrollView. I'll get there at some point but for now I'm gonna go back to trying to figure out deep links. That's more important.

I need to figure out the deep linking thing for my shortcuts. I’ve tried it with other apps in the past and never got it to work correctly, but today that’s my focus.

These are my app's windows. They all have a button to close/dismiss. Does every window need to have the close/return button in the title bar specifically?

My CodeDump update got rejected yesterday. They said my menu bar didn’t have a close button (didn’t even notice that) and I didn’t give them files to work with to test the app. I didn’t know I had to provide files (I didn’t the first time) so hopefully a GitHub repo will work.

I’m coming up on two years of learning Swift. I remember when I started and I’d see people with two years of experience and they looked like they knew everything. I was so ready to fast-forward to that part of the journey. If it makes y’all feel any better, I am still an idiot.

I accidentally deleted the folder containing all of my code for CodeDump. I am an idiot and did not have it backed up to GitHub or anywhere else. I finally rebuilt it, with improvements! Going to do some more testing and ship the update soon.

Do you think GTA VI will accurately depict the traffic fans have to get through to get to the Kaseya Center for a Heat game? Maybe we can finally put an end to the “Heat fans show up late” discourse.
