What bothers me is the double standards. When a white disabled person talks about their disabilities. Often they get praised for it. Sure they may get some pushback but it's nowhere close to what disabled Black people face. Black disabled people get death threats for speaking up.

I'm happy that white disabled people can be open about their disabilities and receive support and love. At the same time, I wish that I, a Black disabled woman never got hate or accusations of faking or exaggerating my disabilities for being open about my disabilities.

Black disabled women deserve support as much as this white disabled trans masc, and we all deserve our basic needs to be met. This includes love, support, and respect. As we advocate for ourselves, we must advocate for others, too.
