The coolest thing I’ve seen today is that a bunch of volunteer public health professionals and developers have restored the CDC website from before January 20th 2025. This differs from an archive in that they want to rebuild the links between pages and replicate the full website.

Apologies for this long post I put together to explain to non-scientists the impact of NIH cuts: Last night, an “atomic bomb” was dropped on the biomedical science community. We were informed that effective immediately, indirect costs on NIH grants (both current and future) would be fixed at 15%.

What’s the matter? It’s the same distance!

My friends, NIH indirect costs will be 15 per cent…there is not a single peaceful moment lately for scientists in the US (of course there are very severe human rights issues as well) grants.nih.gov/grants/guide...
