Bought a couple of wargame miniature paint brushes. Everything in that hobby is so expensive but perhaps they can outlive my cheaper brushes. Because while there's absolutely no guarantee for it... sometimes more expensive does mean more quality.

One thing I hate about genAI is how the abbreviation "AI" can mean so many different things now. Looking at a game and in the description it says "A sci-fi colony sim driven by an intelligent AI storyteller." And... like... it's simply programmed? It's a thing in the game, right? Not genAI? Right?

My main concern with the lighter ones was that they didn't get properly fired and for some reason it took me quite a while to figure out how I could test this: I could just wet them. If they absorbed the water that meant they weren't fired properly. Turns out that was the case.

The clay looks dark until I add the burnt umber and it gets even darker. Was sketching up pics on a few because I had paint on the palette and didn't want to waste it. That's also why I was up too late and it's the sole reason. #wip #clay #teeth!

Whenever I do an image search for butterflies, the amount of tabs I have in my browser shortens it down so all I see is "Butt". It's happened more than once over a span of many years.

Trying to be good and responsible and poured my acrylic brush water into a bucket instead of the sink. The water's going to vaporize and I'll have a layer of acrylic left at the bottom. Wonder what'll happen if I keep doing that. Could it become a piece of acrylic I could use for something?

I have recently learned that a stoneware clay object that has been glaze fired but without any glaze can be called a "biscuit". I knew about bisque firing but apparently the name also applies to the final thing. So right now I'm mostly making biscuits. 🐾

Cloooose-ups and red light!

Trying to take photos of clay things I haven't taken photos of before. I don't remember when I made this skull but it was earlier this year.

This morning I found a black beetle (don't know what species) that looked dead but moved when I picked it up. It was weak though. I tried saving it. Now it's a part of the ecosystem.

Right now I hate everything and it's exhausting.

Ok, ok, all social media always bad etc etc... but Cara changed a thing and now going to my profile or logging out (and having to get a mail with a one-time code and write that in manually because copy/paste wont work) is just a matter of precision that I don't have when I'm tired.

Welp. I'm running out of space to store my sculptures. 😐

At first I had planned to add a small drop of glaze in the middle. Then I decided not to. But now I think I'll actually add that anyway. Perhaps even covering the whole middle pattern bit. Perhaps with some glaze in the middle and then another around. Transparent so the pattern shows through.

These are the same kind of clay. And no mixing or anything - the same exact batch. But they were fired at different times and I wonder if the kiln - despite having programs and should be the same every time - did something different to make the above one so much lighter.

It's not much, but I think the small specks of colour actually makes a difference and is worth the extra effort. At least in some cases.

It's like modern art. I call it... "Two Red Squares".

Used my old mold/stamp for a couple of skulls. Plan is to paint these with acrylics just like the rest of the new batch. Though I'm also kinda tempted to keep them as is.
