The response to this video has been way bigger than I expected. The thing is this feature has been in the game since the very first demo in 2023, and NO ONE has EVER mentioned it. Which suggests despite the very passionate arguments expressed both for and against it most people don't even notice.

If we're being fair, Oblivion Remastered already did away with the saturated and bloomed out fantasy aesthetic of the original in pursuit of a more grounded and realistic look. So I'm not really sure if the DLSS 5 version can be considered destructive of the artistic intent or not at this point.

Pro tip: If you want your game to look like a poorly exposed home video, you can simply download any number of "realistic" tone mapping mods from nexus mods and save yourself the cost of two RTX 5090s.

The demo changes worked out really well. I was able to fix a few sticking points and allow people to get through the tutorial section and into the meat of the demo quicker, while requiring less intervention from me.

Convention centre evacuation is a new experience at PAX

It has been a long time since I felt compelled to make changes to my demo mid-show but here I am at 7am doing just that.

It's 9:25am, the floor has been open to media for 25 minutes, and there are some indies still not here.

I am VERY impressed with the effort indies have gone to this year decorating their booths! It's so much fun walking around and seeing them all. Here's just a small selection.
