ICYMI: Our First Readers are busy reading the first five pages for all #revpit entries and providing brief feedback to aid the editors. Friendly reminder: We intentionally don’t post the names of our First Readers during the reading window to maintain anonymity and avoid unintentional pressure.

Some things I look for: 📙 Are characters believable? Does dialogue feel natural? 📙 Do antagonistic/protagonistic forces make sense; motivations grounded? 📙 Is WC ok? 📙 Does structure/beats match w/ goals of narrative? 📙 Does the author feel like this is actually the story they wanted to tell?

For QLs, the big items to check are word count (are we in/close to 350ish range); book/hook/cook structure; making sure the comps are relevant/timely ("recent" is sometimes up for debate but impt. to consider), & making sure character+motivations motivations+tension pushing story forward is clear!
