Maintaining anything with a degree of userbase is extremely hard. You run into so many cases where you’re expected to do a flawless job with immediate turnaround and others just get needlessly angry about things. Community work in opensource is arguably harder than the programming.

i don't particularly think bsky is a great place to find jobs but you neva know. i'm a senior software engineer with 8 years exp in the industry looking for a remote position! my most experience is in java and c#, little python but i'd be motivated to poke at go/rust as well!

I'm happy with this post. I think this is the most permissive we've seen Yoshi-P talk about third party tools before, and it makes me feel less hopeless about everything I do. he seems to understand the passion/curiosity that drives our (and most other games') modding scene

development of Ktisis will now be taken up by @cazzar.dev and @bwuny.heliosphe.re going forward, both of whom have already made some excellent contributions in past releases. I'll be in the background helping them out where I can until they have it fully in hand. show them some love! ❤️

update re transferring Ktisis: there are plenty of people who would be able and willing to keep it maintained for patches at the very minimum, so there's no need to worry about that - but I'm deliberately reaching out to developers who I know can do a good job of building on and improving it first

Since many are using Ktisis today for the MCDF upload, I wanted to share my favorite testing Ktisis feature, Inverse Kinematics. It allows you to lock hands and feet in place, and have it move with arms and shoulders. It's very handy for people learning to pose, figuring out body positioning.
