Our Green Line Type 10s will be localized variants of CAF's Urbos LRVs... When I see these elsewhere, I'm constantly left wondering how we landed ourselves with such an insane center & front section seating config... Did we tell CAF 'latitudinal seating only'?!

Can we add flex posts or something here at Medford St on N Washington St @boston.gov @streets.boston.gov? There are constantly drivers making illegal lefts like this car, rushing against oncoming traffic, often dashing in front of my 111 bus as fellow riders & I are trying to cross Medford St

Finally got official communication about this, as a friend (not member) of several committees, after hearing about it on here days ago. The old committees have been summarily dissolved without warning and fewer new ones are being formed. A predictable set of topics is omitted entirely.

Homeowners in Menlo Park are so opposed to building affordable housing on a downtown surface parking lot that they have raised $150k and filed a petition requiring a citywide vote anytime a parking lot is to be developed. The city hasn't approved an apartment in 32 months.

As I've said in the past, the subways should not be treated as a de facto shelter, but "removal" without addressing a host of other issues - mental health treatment, drug counseling, affordable housing - just shuffles the problem around. This isn't a serious policy from Cuomo.

In some cases it might be worth it. I’m fine saying no one can change historical Venice. But the population of historical Venice has largely been replaced (falling from 175,000 to 50,000) by tourists and tourism. Limiting construction of housing and other essentials has consequences.

People blame “greedy landlords!” but they’re just responding to conditions that we create. Limiting housing below demand makes neighbourhoods/cities more exclusive, period. One project on its own doesn’t matter, but when it’s a pattern, yes.

My deep frustration with our housing policy is not that I think it’s always wrong to regulate height, heritage, etc. It’s that I think we fail to really reckon with the *consequences* and *trade-offs*. We limit housing and then we’re surprised when rents rise, when renovictions happen.
