Spent the last two months of Monday evenings running a young writers (grades 4-5) workshop with my pal Jacob at our local community centre. Last night, the kids read their stories to a small crowd and we gave them their copies of their collected work from class. Every story was a real adventure!

The immense popularity of “Calvin and Hobbes,” often called “the last great newspaper comic,” can risk obscuring its many inspirations & antecedents. In both style & content, the strip is very well-versed in the rich history of comics and often pays tribute to its influences. 1/12
