Finally watched Week 1 VOD. Here are my takeaways: 1. Playing on Nintendo stream is a dream come true, even if I went 0-4, my team put on a show 2. Its been years since folks (us included) played turf and it shows 3. Commentators were amazing! This may be Jordan Kent's best work and its only Week 1

Shoutout to Sendou for making this format a reality and helping enable CCA to run the entire Circuit on sendou.ink. It's a great format because the conditions to advance are clear cut! But you should 100% understand it before running it. See CCA Circuit finals diagram for a visual of 16-team setup.

This has to be one of the most brutal format I have ever played in and some of yall are not ready for it. Top level is used to 5-6 hours DE tournaments, but 8 hours every. single. week. is going to be ROUGH if they push for it. It will be interesting how teams plan out which weeks to play.

Overall, Episode 1 of the NA League Show was solid! This is the most organic & relaxed coverage Nintendo has every put out for #compSplatoon, which is what we need! Community involvement already making an impact. Only feedback, PLEASE NINTENDO put the clips in chronological order! More context too!

Normalize doing a team ruleset reading and registration session because holy going through the Nintendo rules and registration is an experience right now. Remember Nintendo events are different, so PLEASE familiarize yourself with the rules.

Every time we take photos like this, it amazes me how many people are apart of it. It's just super awesome to see how many people have been impacted by the CCA community and how we continue to grow.

Too many thoughts about Riptide, so I'll keep it simple for now. Super proud of TZS's Top 12 run. Collegiate was stellar despite some bumps. Have to watch back commentary, but think I did well. Smoothest run Riptide by far in my 4 years of attending. Soup hours. Thanks friends for a great weekend.

The community involvement in the Splatoon NA League is absolutely the biggest breakthrough of this whole event. It shows that Nintendo NA is in fact invested in everything we have done and that they are still all-in on our "little" esports scene here. This feels like a decade in the making.

Since folks keeps sending me this, here's my take: Huge W for schools as Nintendo is committed to help cover NSO and game costs. Licensed K-12 tournaments already exist via PlayVS and smaller state-level orgs. Will monitor how it affects K-12 esports, but schools win big which is most important.
