One of the most wonderful and terrible things about writing is going down the rabbit holes. It's so great to learn, but it can take some very dark turns.

I don't give a shit what anyone else thinks of it. The Edgar Wright version of The Running Man is a really fun watch and...in all honesty...parts are better than the book.

Today while working definitely going to listen to the @junkfoodcinema.bsky.social episode on The Midnight Meat Train. Had me in tears laughing.

He may say it's DaVinci Resolve for noobs, but even using the program for several years @danielbatal.bsky.social teaches me things that helps the workflow when editing. Check out his YouTube channel!

Filmmakers say they won't watch a finished product after post production and move on to the next. I like it because it helps me see what I need to be better in.

Watched Misery with someone who had never seen it before. I always have fun watching it, but it was even more fun this time seeing how much they were enjoying it!

This time of year is fucking hard. The holidays are a fertile ground for dark thoughts. Loneliness can drown you, even when you're surrounded by people. Take care of yourself. If you feel like you're drowning in darkness, please talk to someone. Friend, family, stranger. Anyone. You deserve love.

James Cameron can't lose at the box office. On a 400 million dollar budget (I'm sure things such as marketing doesn't go into that number) He almost made that number back the opening weekend. 88 million domestic and 345 million worldwide it will almost no doubt be in the top 10 of all time.

Generally I try to not mention when people pass except when talking to others in person because it's hard to deal with the hate filled comments of some online. The span of 5 days last week was rough. Rest easy to Rob Reiner and James Ransone who both brought me countless hours of joy watching film.

Let a close friend read a script I wrote. He looked at me, eyes wide, and asked "Who writes this kind of stuff?" I said "Me"

On a rainy night in Austin, finally got around to watching Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein. Out of all of the movies this year (which it's been a good year), this is hands down the best of the year!

Roofman was so much different than the trailers showed. Much more of an emotional piece than expected.

Even though it doesn't get talked about like it used to the saying was "work hard, play hard", but people like myself are different. It's work hard, then chill with a good book, movie, or TV Show.

So many terrifying and awesome movies released this year, but one of the ones I personally expect to be the best is the new Frankenstein from the brilliant Guillermo del Toro! That person will go down in cinema history as one of the best ever.
